My girlfriend Laura and I were invited to spend a week up in the Lake District for my Uncle Derek’s wedding in May 2016.

Of course I didn’t need much convincing as I’ll take any excuse to go up to the Lake District.

It turned out to be the best weather I’ve ever experienced up in the lakes, and it lasted all week long, I couldn’t believe it.

We stayed in a holiday home in Keswick which came 8 bedrooms and an outdoor Jacuzzi, another first for us.

The wedding took place at Ladore Falls Hotel just at the end of Derwentwater, a very pretty and classic venue for a wedding.

I was asked to stand in as photographer in the evening to capture a few shots as the evening reception took place.

As we were there for a full week, we did some fantastic walks, making the most of the great weather. We managed to climb Latrigg, Catbells and Castlerigg.

As well as walking Laura and I did some cycling at the local forests, Whinlatter and Grizedale, both utterly fantastic for mountain bike rides and quiet serene surroundings.

I can say with certainty, that this was the best holiday I’ve ever had up in the Lake District, such a variety of things to do and see, oh and drink.
