This was the weather we’d all been waiting for. A gloriously sunny and warm day in June without wind or a cloud in the sky. Given Harewood’s setting, when it’s a sunny clear day like it was this time it’s hard to find a more pretty setting for a day of racing.
As per usual there was a fantastic selection of vehicles competing in the competition. Most notably were a handful of Mk2 Escorts which were in better condition than when they came out of the Ford factory many decades ago.
I find myself getting more confident with every visit and coming away with a higher percentage of keepers whilst using the slower shutter speeds. I’ve also discovered a few nice spots where you can get some action of the cars locking up their brakes. Strangely enough, this is the only hillclimb course with a downhill section in the UK, and it seems to catch people out quite a bit when finding their braking point.
You can view the full set of photos from the Sunday on my Flickr album – Harewood Speed Hillclimb – June 2015.
Thanks for looking, see you at the next event.
