I decided to do something a little different for New Years Eve this year by taking a drive out somewhere remote and quiet with nice scenery where I could get a good vantage point of peoples celebrations for beginning of the new year.
The weather had been pretty atrocious for the last few weeks with heavy and persistent rain throughout the UK meaning that the lakes were extremely full and causing some problems on the roads. I had planned to stand on top of Hallin Fell on the East side of Lake Ullswater and capture the fireworks, however the road leading us there was flooded and I didn’t want to risk flooding my engine trying to get through the water. I did manage to capture a few nice shots whilst we were waiting for the clock to strike midnight, enjoy.
